The Association for Community Health Improvement's Web Site Privacy Statement

1. Introduction

The Health Research and Educational Trust’s Association for Community Health Improvement is committed to respecting your privacy. We recognize that when you choose to provide us with information about yourself, you trust us to act in a responsible manner.  This statement details our commitment to protect your personal information. You may visit our web sites and browse without giving us any personal information. You will need to register, however, to gain access to member-only content, to receive e-mail newsletters, or use other specific services.  By using our web sites, you consent to the collection and use of your information by the Association for Community Health Improvement as set forth below.  If we decide to change our policy, such changes will be posted here on the web site.

2. Types of Information Requested

Except as disclosed in this statement, the Association for Community Health Improvement does not collect any identifiable information about visitors to our web sites.

When you join the Association for Community Health Improvement or otherwise register for an event or service on the web site, we may ask for information such as your name, e-mail address, phone number, address, type of employment, member preference information, payment information, as well as various other personal information that is needed to facilitate use of our web site content.  Registration is automatic for members and voluntary for non-members.

Various Health Research and Educational Trust affiliated web sites may require additional information in connection with:

3. Collection and Use of Weblog Information

The Association for Community Health Improvement uses weblog information to help us design our web site, to identify popular features, and to make the web site more useful for visitors. Our web servers collect the domain names of visitors to our web sites. This information is aggregated to measure number of visits, average time spent on web sites, pages viewed, etc. We use this information to measure the use of our web sites and to improve content.  We do not normally try to identify individuals from weblogs. However, we may use weblogs to identify any person attempting to break into or damage our web sites.

4. Privacy Statement Coverage

This privacy statement is not intended to cover any information collection practices that take place outside of the Association for Community Health Improvement’s web site.

5. Passwords

In order to bring you more personalized services, we may ask you to establish a password to gain access to certain services or sections of pages within the Association for Community Health Improvement web site. You are solely responsible for the control and use of each password you create.

6. Public Forums

Our web site contains message boards and/or news groups ("Forums"). Please remember that any information disclosed in these areas becomes publicly available to any Association for Community Health Improvement member, and that you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information in these areas.
